The Committee for Public Services, Local Administration and Media of the Assembly of Kosovo lead by Nekibe Kelmendi, Chairperson of the Committee, today, organized a public hearing regarding the Draft law on RTK. Accept the members of the Committee, in this debate participated also representatives of the Government, UNMIK, OSCE, and Independent Committee on Media, USAID, RTK and Independent Syndicate of RTP to give their contribution. The unanimous ascertainment of the participants was that this draft law has a real importance, with what it™s aimed to regulate the issue of information and transferring based on the high professional European standards, out of political influences, in order to be an important factor in whole policy and society processes in the country.
During the debate was mentioned also the issue of the RTK property, which is not solved, meantime without its regulation it can not be discussed about the independence of the RTK. On this occasion, the agreement was already done that from this Draft law should be taken off articles of property determination, since in this segment the issue of Radio and Television of Prishtina and its workers can be incriminated. Even the representatives of the RTP Syndicate had the same opinion that without solving the issue of the unemployed workers of RTP, the property should be not included in this Draft law.
